Day 5-6 Bodega Bay

Bodega Bay is where they filmed Alfred Hitchcock’s film “The Birds”, a film that captured my attention and began my love of film noir. So it was pleasing to stumble across this incredible bay by accident.

The wind was incredible and made sure I continued my ride at 0.2 miles per hour. The physicality of what I was trying to take on hit me the day I arrived here, I’d gone a measly 30 miles and felt like I’d get nowhere in the head wind. But after a day at Bodega Bay I came to the conclusion that even if I did move slower than a snail, at least I had the chance to take these views in fully.

And what did it matter? I had 7 months to go as slow as I wanted 🙂 It hadn’t yet dawned on me that I’d get stronger and it’d get easier.
